Hello Squalane is Olive oil is used to nourish the skin. Other uses in formulas, for example, can help with brush on adhesion. but not as good as Oils that are designed to be used in such a particular function, however, the selection is sometimes used. may be a matter of marketing [eg want to advertise the product of the product owner is different / above than other products] or about the benefits of skin care [eg want to brush on to help nourish the skin as well] Squalene is a synthetic oil. high viscosity Suitable for bonding Make the formula stick to the skin to be resistant. Acts as a binder [to combine various ingredients, especially powders, pigments, to blend together well] to the formula. The texture varies greatly by Squalane is a very light oil, but Squalene is a viscous oil if used at high rates. [But usually using it as a binder in formulas, it uses a little and doesn't make the skin sticky.]
