Water Bath Heating Oil Phase

Postby siwarin.e » Tue Jun 05, 2018 6:57 pm

Now I use a microwave for heating the water phase. I don't know if it's oil phase, what will be used to heat it? As far as I understand, microwave can't be used because microwave requires water molecules or you have to buy water bath that is available on the website selling scientific instruments. Thank you.

Hello, actually warming the oil in the microwave can be done. But it may take longer than enough water. The cause is probably due to moisture (even at very low levels) in the oil by each type of oil. It is likely that the humidity is different. If you have ceramics Put the oil in the ceramic and put it in the microwave for a test. Most oils will be able to heat up, but it will take some time. If you're doing it in small quantities, using a microwave is probably the best option. It's more convenient than doing a water bath.
