Question
I have a formula containing `DMAE 20%`, `Azelaic Acid 10%`, and `Light Cream Maker 3%`. Currently, its texture is like a serum, but I would like to make it thicker, like a cream.
1. How can I adjust the formula to achieve a cream consistency?
2. Is this formula suitable for application around the eye area?
3. If it can be used around the eyes, what adjustments are necessary?
Answer
Hello! Thank you for your question.
Based on the information from the staff, here are the answers to your questions:
- Regarding thickening the formula: If you want your formula containing DMAE 20%, Azelaic Acid 10%, and Light Cream Maker 3% to be thicker like a cream instead of a serum, it is recommended to increase the amount of Light Cream Maker by another 1-2%.
- Regarding application around the eyes: It is not recommended to apply this formula around the eyes. This is because Azelaic Acid has exfoliating properties which can cause irritation, especially on the delicate skin around the eyes. If you absolutely need to use it around the eyes, it is suggested to reduce the concentration of the ingredients by approximately 50% from the manufacturer's recommendations.
Hope this information is helpful!
