Adjusting Foundation Formula for Better Texture and Blendability
Question
My foundation formula is too powdery and doesn't blend well or adhere properly to the skin. I was using Titanium Dioxide Nano at 13.884% and regular powder like Babymild with Light Cream Maker as the emulsifier. How can I adjust the formula to achieve a smoother texture, better blendability, and improved skin adherence while still providing good coverage for dark spots?
Answer
Based on your foundation formula and the issue of it looking powdery and not blending well, the staff has provided the following recommendations to achieve a smoother, more natural finish that covers dark spots:
- Reduce Titanium Dioxide Nano: Decrease the amount of Titanium Dioxide Nano from 13.884% to 3-5%.
- Change Powder: Replace Babymild ultramild powder with either Silk Talc Powder (Product ID 283) or Silk Mica Powder (Product ID 291). This is because regular powders are not coated and do not adhere well to the skin.
- Change Emulsifier: Replace Light Cream Maker (Product ID 141) with Water-in-Oil EZ (Product ID 726).
Please make sure to study the instructions for using Water-in-Oil EZ (Product ID 726) in the product details before mixing your formula.
These adjustments should help the foundation blend more seamlessly with your skin while maintaining good coverage.
