Question

I want to make a fabric spray using fragrance oil, with a fabric softener scent. I do not want the main ingredient to be `Ethyl Alcohol`. Can the main ingredient be water?

Is there an ingredient that can mix the หัวเชื้อน้ำหอม (fragrance oil) and water together without leaving stains on clothes?

Or do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you.

Answer

Creating an Alcohol-Free Fabric Spray

To create a fabric spray using water and fragrance oil without using alcohol, you will need a solubilizer. Fragrance oils are not naturally soluble in water, and simply mixing them can result in separation and potentially stain fabric.

Based on the available information, Flora Solve™ Clear (Fragrance Solubilizer) is a suitable ingredient for this purpose. Its description states that it is designed to combine essential oils and fragrance oils with water without using alcohol, creating a clear and stable mixture that does not precipitate.

How to Use Flora Solve™ Clear

  1. Mix Flora Solve™ Clear with your fragrance oil. The recommended ratio is 2-5 parts Flora Solve™ Clear to 1 part fragrance oil. Stir or blend thoroughly until the mixture is clear and uniform.
  2. Slowly add this mixture to your water base, stirring until fully combined. It is important to add the fragrance/solubilizer mixture to the water, not the other way around, to avoid forming a thick gel.

Start with a ratio of 2-3 parts Flora Solve™ Clear to 1 part fragrance and increase up to 5 parts if needed to achieve a clear solution, as the required amount can vary depending on the specific fragrance oil used.

Note that the 8 Hours Fragrance Spray Base (Musk-Free) is not suitable for an alcohol-free spray as its primary ingredient is Ethyl Alcohol.
