Question
How to formulate an anti-pollution essence using Plankton GP4G and Witch Hazel? What are the recommended usage rates and mixing instructions for these ingredients?
Answer
Anti-Pollution Essence Formula
This formula combines the pore-tightening benefits of Witch Hazel with the anti-pollution and cell-stimulating properties of Plankton GP4G™.
Key Ingredients:
- Witch Hazel (Distillate - Alcohol Free, Paraben Free): Acts as an astringent to help tighten pores. Can be used at high concentrations.
- GP4G EX™ (Plankton Extract, GP4G 200ppm): Helps stimulate skin cells and provides anti-pollution benefits, potentially by forming a protective layer on the skin.
Formulation Guide:
- Prepare the water phase of your essence.
- Add Witch Hazel (Distillate - Alcohol Free, Paraben Free) to the water phase. It can be used at a rate of 10-100%, with over 50% recommended for toner/essence efficiency.
- Add GP4G EX™ (Plankton Extract, GP4G 200ppm) to the mixture. The recommended usage rate is 0.5-5%, with 2% being a common recommendation.
- Ensure the temperature of the mixture is below 40°C when adding these ingredients, as they are sensitive to heat.
- Mix thoroughly until dissolved.
- Add any other desired ingredients (e.g., humectants, preservatives) according to their usage instructions, ensuring compatibility and temperature requirements are met.
This combination provides a base for an essence focused on pore refinement and protection against environmental pollutants.
