Question

I purchased Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (BabyFoam™) powder and would like to make it a light pink powder. How should I mix the color, and what type of color should I use so that the color does not stain hands after it is dissolved in water?

Answer

Coloring Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate Powder Pink

To color your BabyFoam™ (Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate) powder a light pink without the color transferring or staining after it dissolves in water, you should use a water-soluble cosmetic colorant.

We recommend using a water-soluble color like Glow Pink (Water-Soluble, Fluorescent). This type of colorant is designed to dissolve completely in water, ensuring it won't leave residue or stain hands after use.

How to mix:

  1. Start with a very small amount of the Glow Pink powder. Water-soluble colors are highly concentrated, so you only need a tiny amount to achieve a light shade.
  2. Add the color powder to your BabyFoam™ powder.
  3. Mix thoroughly and evenly. You can use a mortar and pestle or a small blender dedicated to cosmetics to ensure the color is dispersed throughout the white powder.
  4. Add more color gradually if needed, mixing well after each addition, until you achieve the desired light pink shade.

Using a water-soluble color ensures that once the powder is dissolved in water for use, the color will also dissolve and not stain.
