Pisum Sativum Extract (Pea-Ex™) vs. Anagain

While both Pisum Sativum Extract (Pea-Ex™) and Anagain are derived from peas and are used for their beneficial properties, they are distinct products from different manufacturers. Anagain is a registered trademark of Mibelle AG Biochemistry, whereas Pea-Ex™ is our proprietary Pisum Sativum Extract.

Our Pisum Sativum Extract (Pea-Ex™) is designed to help balance the processes of protease/elastase (which breaks down elastic fibers) and anti-protease/anti-elastase (which helps create elastic fibers). As we age, the anti-protease process weakens, leading to a breakdown of elastic fibers and skin aging. Pea-Ex™ works to protect elastic fibers, with experiments showing it can protect 50% of papillary elastic fibers and 35% of reticular elastic fibers from destruction by elastase.

Furthermore, Pea-Ex™ has been shown to significantly stimulate cell function, increasing vitality by 23%, enzymatic activity by 12%, and protein levels by 60% at its highest utilization rate. It also significantly stimulates the synthesis of Type 3 Collagen, Elastin, GAGs, Type 1 Collagen, and Type V Collagen, making it an excellent ingredient for products aimed at reducing wrinkles and improving skin elasticity.
