Compatibility of Oil-Fix™ S with Homogenizer Dispersion

Oil-Fix™ S can be dispersed using a homogenizer, but there are specific speed limitations to maintain the stability of the gel structure.

Guidelines for Homogenization:

• Speed Limit: You can use a shear head homogenizer at speeds not exceeding 3,000 RPM.
• Caution: Speeds higher than 3,000 RPM must be avoided. High-shear mixing can break down the physical network formed by the silica particles, which may result in a loss of viscosity or failure to form a stable gel.
• Recommended Method: For optimal results, it is often recommended to disperse the powder into the oil or silicone phase using a low-to-medium speed propeller mixer. If a homogenizer is necessary for the overall formulation, ensure the speed is strictly controlled within the safe limit.

Oil-Fix™ S is designed for thickening and stabilizing silicone-based or mineral oil-based formulas, providing a dry, matte finish and preventing oil separation.
