Question

I would like to ask about the compatibility of ingredients:

  1. Can Repair Activator be used together with Azelaic acid?
    • I understand that Azelaic acid has a high pH.
    • Would a formula combining these ingredients be acceptable?
  2. Regarding the calculation for Disodium EDTA 0.2%, does this mean 99.8 grams of water + 0.2 grams of Disodium EDTA?

Answer

Regarding the use of Repair Activator with Azelaic Acid and your formulation:
After mixing the ingredients, you should measure the pH of the final mixture. If the pH is too high, you can adjust it down slightly by adding an acid until it reaches around pH 7, which is a neutral range.

Regarding the calculation for 0.2% Disodium EDTA:
Yes, your understanding is correct. 0.2% Disodium EDTA means using 0.2 grams of Disodium EDTA in 99.8 grams of water (or other base), totaling 100 grams of product.
