คำถาม

Hello,

I have a question about dissolving Pure-Phytosterols™. I used Octyldodecanol at 3% for dissolution, but the Pure-Phytosterols™ still appear as coarse particles and do not seem to dissolve well in the oil phase.

When I incorporate this into a cream base, the Pure-Phytosterols™ coarse particles are still dispersed within the cream texture. Could you please advise on the correct method for dissolving Pure-Phytosterols™?

Thank you.

How to Dissolve Pure-Phytosterols™

To properly dissolve Pure-Phytosterols™ and avoid grittiness in your cream formulation, you should dissolve it in the oil phase with heating.

Based on the product information, Pure-Phytosterols™ can be dissolved in oil, and Octyldodecanol is recommended as a suitable solvent. The mixing method involves incorporating it into the oil phase and heating up to 80 degrees Celsius for up to 15 minutes.

While you are using Octyldodecanol at 3%, which is within its recommended usage rate (1-20%), the key to complete dissolution for Pure-Phytosterols™ (recommended use rate 1-5%) is the application of heat during the mixing process in the oil phase. Using heat helps the powder fully disperse and dissolve in the oil before emulsifying into the cream.

If you are still experiencing grittiness after heating, you might consider slightly increasing the concentration of Octyldodecanol within its recommended range, but ensure the heating step is performed correctly first.
