Effect of substituting LipidSoft™ Lite with Isododecane on formula texture

Question

If I remove 15% of LipidSoft™ Lite from a formula and add only 5% of Isododecane, will it make the formula easier to spread and less sticky?

Answer

Hello,

Adjusting ingredients in a formula always affects the texture.

Generally, LipidSoft™ Lite and Isododecane provide different skin feels. Removing 15% LipidSoft™ Lite and adding only 5% Isododecane will make the formula easier to spread and less sticky, according to the properties of Isododecane. However, the smoothness provided by a high percentage of LipidSoft™ Lite might be reduced.

If you want the formula to be easier to spread and lighter, increasing Isododecane can help, but it won't be the same as using LipidSoft™ Lite entirely. You might need to experiment with the proportions of Isododecane or other emollients to achieve the desired texture.
