Question

I have some follow-up questions regarding my formula and ingredients:

  • Can I adjust the formula by reducing water and adding Xanthan Gum 1%?
  • When using Copper peptide 3% for acne scars, should I apply it only to the scars or the entire face?
  • Should I use AHA before bed for acne scars? Which specific AHA is recommended for acne scars, and should I apply it only to the scars or the entire face?

Answer

Hello,
Regarding your follow-up questions, here is a summary and information:

  1. Adjusting the formula by reducing water and adding 1% Xanthan Gum: Yes, you can do this, as advised by C7.
  2. Using Copper peptide 3% for acne scars: You can apply it to the entire face. In addition to helping with acne scars, it also works well for wrinkles, as stated by C7.
  3. Using AHA before bed for acne scars:
    • AHA can help improve the appearance of shallow acne scars, but it may not be very effective for deep scars (as mentioned by C7).
    • Common AHAs used for skin concerns include Glycolic Acid or Lactic Acid.
    • Generally, AHAs are applied to the entire face to help exfoliate skin cells, improve skin texture, and address various marks, including shallow acne scars.
    • It is recommended to start with a low concentration of AHA and perform a patch test on a small area before applying to the entire face.

Hope this information is helpful for you to start taking care of your skin.
