คำถาม
I am formulating a scrub and plan to use orange peel and apricot scrub beads. I have some questions regarding the formula:
- If I add water to the formula, which preservative do you recommend?
- Which cream maker/emulsifier should I use between Soft Cream Maker and Soy Lecithin?
- Can Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) and N-Acetyl Glucosamine be included in the formula, especially if water is added?
คำตอบ
Regarding your questions about the scrub formulas:
- Preservative: If you add water to your formula (which is necessary for ingredients like Goat Milk Powder, Vitamin B3, and Glucosamine), you will need a preservative. Based on the staff's recommendation, you can use Phenoxyethanol (ID 155) or Mild Preserved™ (ID 642). These are common cosmetic preservatives.
- Emulsifier: Between Soft Cream Maker and Soy Lecithin, the staff recommended using Soft Cream Maker (ID 707). It is much easier to use, especially if you are new to formulating, compared to Soy Lecithin (ID 256).
- Vitamin B3 and Glucosamine (Formula 2): Yes, Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) (ID 74) and N-Acetyl Glucosamine (ID 116) can be included in formula 2, provided there is enough water in the formula to dissolve them. The staff suggested having at least 5 times the amount of water compared to the combined proportion of these ingredients.
You mentioned you plan to use orange peel and apricot scrub beads (ID 109) which are suitable for a scrub product that cleanses and exfoliates.
Relevant product IDs: 707, 155, 642, 74, 116.
