Makeup Remover Formulations

There are two main types of formulations for makeup removers, as suggested:

1. Water-Based Cleanser (using MakeUp-Wash™)

This type uses a gentle detergent that forms micelles in water to effectively remove makeup without drying the skin.

Example Formulation:

• MakeUp-Wash™: 3%
• Emollient (like Glycerin, Butylene Glycol): 5-10%
• Water: remaining amount

Mixing Method:
Mix MakeUp-Wash™ into the water. Do not add water to MakeUp-Wash™.

Usage:
Recommended usage rate for MakeUp-Wash™ is 1-10%, with 3-5% recommended for washing or wiping makeup. If it causes eye stinging, reduce the concentration.

2. Oil-Based Cleanser (using Oilsify 15)

This type uses an oil-emulsifier like Oilsify 15 mixed with oil to effectively lift makeup from the skin. It is gentle and can be used for eye makeup removal.

Example Cleansing Oil Formulation:

• Oilsify 15: 15%
• LipidSoft™ Palm: 84.8%
• Phenoxyethanol: 0.2%

Mixing Method:
All ingredients can be mixed together in one step.

How to Use Cleansing Oil:
Massage the cleansing oil onto a dry face thoroughly, then massage water onto the skin, and rinse off.

• Note: Butylene Glycol can be used to substitute some of the oil in the recipe to help reduce cost, as it also aids in makeup removal.*

These formulations provide different approaches to creating effective makeup removers.
