Answer

Based on your question and the helpful reply you received, here is a formulation and instructions for making a gel with Aloe Vera, Centella Asiatica, and Green Tea extracts.

Here are the ingredients and suggested percentages:

  • Distilled Water: 90.5%
  • Carbomer 940: 1%
  • Glycerin: 3%
  • Triethanolamine 99%: 2.5% (adjust amount as needed to reach desired gel consistency and pH)
  • Centella Asiatica Extract (Madecassoside 7%, Liquid): 1%
  • Aloe Vera Extract (extraction ratio 10:1 FullAssay™): 1%
  • Mild Preserved™ COS: 1%

Mixing Instructions:

  1. In a clean container, disperse the Carbomer 940 powder into the Distilled Water. Stir or blend until the Carbomer is fully hydrated and evenly dispersed. It may look cloudy at this stage.
  2. Add the Glycerin to the mixture and stir.
  3. Slowly add the Triethanolamine 99% drop by drop while stirring. The mixture will start to thicken and form a gel as the Carbomer is neutralized. Continue adding Triethanolamine until you achieve the desired gel consistency. Be careful not to add too much, as this can make the gel too alkaline and potentially affect the other ingredients. Aim for a final pH between 5.5 and 6.5, which is suitable for the extracts.
  4. Once the gel has formed and the pH is adjusted, add the Centella Asiatica Extract, Aloe Vera Extract, and Mild Preserved™ COS. Stir well until all ingredients are uniformly mixed into the gel.
  5. Package the gel in a clean, opaque container to protect the Green Tea Extract from light.

Shelf Life:

The suggested shelf life is approximately 2 years. Storing the gel in the refrigerator can help extend its freshness and stability. Ensure the container is tightly closed to avoid air and light exposure.

Please note that for commercial production, a challenge test is recommended to confirm the effectiveness of the preservative in your specific formulation.
