Sample Gentle Shower Gel Formula

Detailed Mixing Instructions

1. Prepare the Water Phase: Heat the required amount of water to approximately 80°C.
2. Add Thickener: Slowly add EasyThick™ to the heated water while stirring continuously. Stir until the EasyThick™ is completely dissolved and the mixture is clear. Maintaining the temperature around 80°C will help it dissolve faster.
3. Add Surfactants: Add IseFoam™ to the heated water/thickener mixture and stir gently until dissolved. Then, add Cocamidopropyl Betaine and stir gently to minimize foam formation.
4. Prepare Conditioning Agent: In a separate small container, take a small amount of water (part of the total water amount) and gently sprinkle Poly-Conditioner Pro powder into it while stirring or blending. Continue stirring until it is dissolved and clear. Heating this small portion of water to about 65°C can help the Poly-Conditioner Pro dissolve faster.
5. Combine Phases: Add the dissolved Poly-Conditioner Pro mixture to the main batch and stir well to ensure even distribution.
6. Cool Down: Allow the entire mixture to cool down to below 45°C.
7. Add Preservative: Once the mixture is below 45°C, add Mild Preserved™ COS and stir thoroughly. Ensure it is well incorporated.
8. Add Optional Ingredients: Add your desired fragrance and color (if using) and stir gently until evenly distributed.
9. Adjust pH (Optional but Recommended): Check the pH of the shower gel. A typical pH for shower gel is between 5.5 and 6.5. If needed, you can adjust the pH using a dilute solution of Citric Acid (to lower pH) or Sodium Hydroxide (to raise pH). Add drop by drop, stirring and checking the pH until the desired range is reached.
10. Defoam and Package: Let the mixture sit for a while to allow any trapped air bubbles or foam to dissipate. Once clear, package your shower gel into clean containers.

Ingredient Recommendations

• Surfactants: The formula above uses IseFoam™ and Cocamidopropyl Betaine, which are known for their mildness and good foam. If you want to explore other gentle options, you can research other mild surfactants available.
• Conditioning/Moisturizing: Poly-Conditioner Pro helps with skin conditioning. You could also add a moisturizing ingredient like MOIST72™ to enhance the skin's hydration after washing. Add this ingredient during step 7, along with the preservative.

This formula provides a good starting point. You can adjust the percentages slightly based on your desired thickness and foam level, but always stay within the recommended usage rates for each ingredient. Remember to perform a small test batch first.
