Mixing Instructions

Here is a recommended method for mixing this formula. Ensure all equipment is clean and sanitized.

Ingredients by Phase:

• Phase A (Water Phase):
  • Water: 76%
• Phase B (Heated Phase):
  • Cetearyl Alcohol: 8%
  • BTAC: 2%
  • CTAC: 1%
• Phase C (Cool Down Phase):
  • Propylene Glycol: 1%
  • Pure Keratin™: 2%
  • Creatine 100: 1%
  • AminoCMC™ (Cuticle Bonder): 1%
  • HydroAlgae™: 1%
  • Hydrolyzed rice protein (Powder): 2%
  • Panthenol (Vitamin B5) ExtraLite™: 2%
  • Hydro Protein (Soy, Oat, Wheat, Maize Protein): 1%
  • GuarCat™ Standard: 0.50%
  • Condi-B5™ (Panthenyl Hydroxypropyl Steardimonium Chloride): 1%
• Phase D (Preservative):
  • Mild Preserved Eco™: 1%

Procedure:

1. Prepare Phases A and B: Weigh Phase A (Water) into a heat-resistant container. Weigh Phase B ingredients (Cetearyl Alcohol, BTAC, CTAC) into a separate heat-resistant container.
2. Heat Phases A and B: Heat both Phase A and Phase B to approximately 70-75°C (158-167°F). Heat Phase B until all solids are melted and dispersed.
3. Combine and Emulsify: Slowly pour Phase B into Phase A while mixing continuously with a high-shear mixer (like a stick blender) for a few minutes to form a stable emulsion. Switch to a regular mixer and continue stirring as the mixture cools.
4. Cool Down: Allow the emulsion to cool to below 40°C (104°F) while stirring.
5. Prepare GuarCat™: In a separate small container, disperse GuarCat™ Standard in a small amount of water or Propylene Glycol taken from the formula's total amount. Stir continuously until fully hydrated (this may take around 15 minutes). Ensure the pH is below 7.0 if using water for dispersion.
6. Add Phase C (excluding GuarCat™): Once the main batch is below 40°C, add the remaining ingredients from Phase C (Propylene Glycol, Pure Keratin™, Creatine 100, AminoCMC™, HydroAlgae™, Hydrolyzed rice protein, Panthenol ExtraLite™, Hydro Protein, Condi-B5™) one by one, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.
7. Add Dispersed GuarCat™: Add the hydrated GuarCat™ dispersion to the main batch and mix thoroughly until uniform.
8. Add Phase D: Add Mild Preserved Eco™ and mix well.
9. Adjust pH (Recommended): Check the pH. For hair conditioners, a pH between 4.5 and 5.5 is ideal. If needed, adjust the pH downwards using a dilute Citric Acid or Lactic Acid solution.
10. Final Mix and Package: Mix until the conditioner is smooth and uniform. Pour into clean containers.
