Identity of Disodium EDTA Forms

Disodium EDTA and EDTA, Disodium Salt, Dihydrate refer to the same chemical substance, which is the disodium salt of Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). The term 'Dihydrate' simply indicates that the salt is in a hydrated form, containing two water molecules per molecule of the salt. Therefore, for practical purposes, especially in product formulations, they are considered the same ingredient. EDTA itself is the parent acid, which is different from its salts.
