Question
I am making a formula containing Sodium PCA and Carbomer, and I am experiencing pilling. Could you please explain why this is happening and suggest alternative gelling agents that are compatible with Sodium PCA?
Answer
Based on the staff's reply, the pilling you are experiencing is likely caused by the incompatibility between Sodium PCA and Carbomer in your formula. It is not necessarily due to Xanthan Gum or Carbomer alone, but their combination with Sodium PCA.
The staff suggests that if you want to use Sodium PCA, you should choose Pro Polymer or Xanthan Gum alone as the gelling agent instead of Carbomer.
