Mascara Formulation Ingredients

For creating a mascara formula, you will need a film-former and ingredients to provide length.

Film-Formers

Film-formers create the coating on the lashes, providing hold and water resistance. Suitable options include:

• Resist Film (Water Base): This provides a strong, highly waterproof film, ideal for durable mascara.
• Polyacrylate-21 (Water Base, Gloss & Flexible): This offers a glossy and flexible film, also suitable for mascara.

Lash Lengthening

To make lashes appear longer and thicker upon application, you can add Lash Fibers to your formula. These are small fibers that build onto the natural lashes. Options include:

• Lash Fiber (Long/Thick)
• Lash Fiber (Short/Thin)

These fibers are typically added at a low percentage in the final phase of mixing.

Eyelash Growth Treatment

For promoting natural eyelash growth over time, Long-Lash™ is an ingredient containing peptides that stimulate keratin production. This is a treatment ingredient and works gradually with consistent use, separate from the immediate effect of mascara fibers.
