Question
Based on a previously discussed formula, I have the following questions:
- Will
Eye Preservedbe restocked, and if so, when? - Regarding the recommended preservative usage percentage, does "50%" refer to 50% of the water phase or 50% of the total formula?
- If I need to select one from the currently available preservatives and use it at a 50% reduced concentration for my formula, which one would the staff recommend among:
- Nature Preserve
- Global Guard
- Phenoxyethanol
- Mild Preserved
Answer
Regarding "Eye Preserved", I do not have information on when it will be back in stock.
The staff's recommendation to reduce the preservative level by 50% refers to reducing the percentage in the total formula. For your specific formula using Mild Preserve, the staff recommended reducing it from 1% to 0.5%.
Based on the staff's previous advice for your formula, using Mild Preserve at 0.5% is recommended. However, please remember the caution about potential warming sensation and consider patch testing as suggested by the staff. The staff also recommended adding PE-1 Aqua 2% to improve absorption.
