Question

I have a question regarding the Liquid Azelaic™ product.

I want to create a formula with the following composition:

  • Liquid Azelaic™: 10%
  • Pro Polymer: 1%
  • Preservative: 1%
  • Water: 88%
  1. What is the maximum percentage of Liquid Azelaic™ that can be used?
  2. Can Liquid Azelaic™ be used at 20% concentration, similar to the drug Skinoren?
  3. If I used Skinoren 20% but did not see results, will using Liquid Azelaic™ at 10% still be effective?

Answer

Regarding your proposed formula:
Your formula with 10% Azelaic Acid (Liquid Azelaic™), 1% Pro Polymer, 1% preservative, and 88% water is acceptable in terms of the concentration of Liquid Azelaic™. The manufacturer recommends a maximum usage of 10% for this specific product.

Regarding using 20% Azelaic Acid:
While Skinoren contains 20% Azelaic Acid, the specific Liquid Azelaic™ product you linked has a manufacturer-recommended maximum usage of 10%. Therefore, you cannot use it at 20% concentration.

As mentioned in the previous replies, if you used Skinoren with 20% Azelaic Acid and did not see results, using a formula with 10% Azelaic Acid is unlikely to be effective. It might be more beneficial to explore other ingredients that could address your specific skin concerns.
