Answer
Mixing Your Formulas with Vaseline Lotion
You're asking if you can mix your Formula A and Formula B with a commercial Vaseline Healthy White Lightening lotion to increase the volume while keeping the original efficacy.
Mixing your carefully formulated products with a pre-made lotion is generally not recommended. Here's why:
- Incompatibility: Your formulas (Formula A is a water-based gel/serum, Formula B is an emulsion) are complex systems. Mixing them with another pre-made emulsion like the Vaseline lotion can cause instability, leading to separation, changes in texture, or loss of product integrity. Different emulsifier systems and ingredient types (like the oil-soluble Petrolatum in Vaseline lotion vs. water-soluble ingredients in your formulas) often do not mix well when combined post-production.
- Dilution of Active Ingredients: Adding a large volume of another product will dilute the concentration of the beneficial active ingredients in your original formulas, such as Hyaluronic Acid Elastomer, HyaCoat, GlucoBright, Safe-B3, Yeast Radiance, Alpha Arbutin, and Active Resveratrol. This will likely reduce the effectiveness you achieved with your original formulations.
- Unknown Interactions: Commercial lotions contain many ingredients. Your active ingredients could potentially interact negatively with these unknown components, affecting stability or efficacy.
Recommendation:
To increase the volume and maintain the intended efficacy and stability of your products, the best approach is to make a larger batch of your original Formula A and Formula B. This ensures that all ingredient percentages are correct and the formulation remains stable.
If you wish to incorporate ingredients like Petrolatum (Vaseline) for enhanced moisturizing, it would require developing a new formula from scratch that is specifically designed to be stable with such ingredients and your desired actives. Simply mixing into an existing product is not a reliable method.
