Mixing Essential Oil with Water for Diffuser using Flora Solve Clear
Question
I want to mix 100% pure Essential Oil with water without using alcohol to make a water-based aroma oil for use with a Diffuser. What is the recommended ratio of Flora Solve Clear to Essential Oil? If a higher ratio of Flora Solve Clear is used to achieve a clear formula, will it affect the sprayability/viscosity of the formula?
Answer
Hello Product Developer,
Regarding your questions about mixing 100% pure Essential Oil with water without alcohol for use in a diffuser, and creating a water-based aroma oil:
You can use Flora Solve Clear, which you have already ordered, for this purpose.
Formula and Mixing:
Mix Flora Solve Clear with your Essential Oil at a ratio of approximately 2.5 to 3 parts Flora Solve Clear to 1 part Essential Oil. Mix them well together first. After they are well combined, you can then add this mixture to water, and it will be able to dissolve in the water.
Effect on Scent and Color:
- Color: The color should not change.
- Scent: The scent might be fixed, which can make the fragrance last longer. However, the intensity of the scent might be slightly lighter.
Regarding achieving a clear mixture when using Flora Solve Clear, a higher ratio of Flora Solve Clear relative to the fragrance/essential oil is needed. However, using too much Flora Solve Clear might make the final mixture too heavy, potentially affecting its suitability for spraying applications, though this might be less of a concern for a diffuser depending on the type. If a clear mixture is desired, you may need to increase the Flora Solve Clear ratio or decrease the essential oil ratio until clarity is achieved, keeping in mind the potential change in viscosity.
Thank you.
