Question

I would like to ask about mixing different oils and vitamins:

  1. Can various oils be mixed together?
  2. Can Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate and dl-alpha tocopherol) and Vitamin A (Retinol) be mixed together and added to light oils?
  3. What is the difference between Vitamin E Tocopheryl Acetate and Vitamin E dl-alpha tocopherol?
  4. What does the term "mix 1%" mean in the context of formulating?

Answer

Based on the staff's reply:

  • Mixing oils together is generally easy and can be done at room temperature. It is easier if the temperature is not too cold, as some oils may become thicker.
  • Both types of Vitamin E you mentioned (Tocopheryl Acetate and dl-alpha tocopherol), as well as Vitamin A (Retinol/Retinyl Palmitate), can be mixed together and blended with light oils without issues.
  • Regarding the difference between the two types of Vitamin E, please refer to the detailed product descriptions on the website for more information.
  • The term "mix 1%" refers to the concentration or ratio of the ingredient in your final mixture. For detailed information on calculating ratios and usage rates, please consult the "Beginner's Guide" resource provided by the staff.
