Mixing Perfume Concentrate with Water and Water-Soluble Vitamins
Question
Can perfume concentrate be mixed with water? I want to mix various water-soluble vitamins into the perfume concentrate. If it can be mixed with water, what is the maximum percentage of water that should be added?
Answer
Perfume concentrate (like product ID 319) is typically oil-based and designed to be mixed with alcohol. Oil and water do not mix well without an emulsifier, so adding water directly will likely cause the mixture to separate and become cloudy.
For this reason, adding water-soluble vitamins directly to perfume concentrate is also not recommended, as they will not dissolve properly and may affect the clarity and stability of the fragrance.
If you want to use water-soluble vitamins, it's better to incorporate them into a base that is compatible with water, such as a water-based spray or lotion.
