คำถาม
When formulating with Pro Polymer (Acrylate Crosspolymer) and other water-soluble ingredients, what is the recommended mixing procedure? Should the other ingredients be dissolved before adding Pro Polymer, or should Pro Polymer be gelled first before adding the other ingredients? Does the pH or electrolyte content of the other ingredients influence the preferred method?
คำตอบ
Based on the staff's reply, both methods are possible for mixing Pro Polymer in water with other water-soluble ingredients, provided the other ingredients do not have very high or low pH or are not strong electrolytes.
- Method 1 (Generally easier): Dissolve other water-soluble ingredients first, then add Pro Polymer to create the gel texture. This is especially easier if some ingredients are powders, as it requires less stirring compared to adding powders into an already formed gel.
- Method 2 (Easier if ingredients have extreme pH or are strong electrolytes): Dissolve Pro Polymer in pure water first to form the gel, and then add the ingredients with very high/low pH or strong electrolytes. This is because Pro Polymer is harder to dissolve and form a gel when the water already contains such ingredients.
