Question

As a beginner in perfume oil formulation, I want to experiment with mixing perfume oil. I am currently interested in Propenyl Guaethol, Vaniatrope and would like to know if I can use LipidSoft™ Solve to dissolve them and mix into a LipidSoft™ Silk base.

My rough formula is approximately as follows:

  1. Virginia Tobacco Absolute 25% (base notes)
  2. Woody Dioxolane 10% (middle notes)
  3. Propenyl Guaethol, Vaniatrope 15% (top notes)
  4. LipidSoft™ Solve 10%
  5. LipidSoft™ Silk 40%

Could you please provide advice before I order the ingredients?

Answer

Perfume Oil Formulation Guidance

Yes, you can use LipidSoft™ Solve to dissolve Propenyl Guaethol, Vaniatrope and then mix it into LipidSoft™ Silk.

  • LipidSoft™ Solve is a highly effective solvent for oil-soluble ingredients, including fragrance components like Propenyl Guaethol, Vaniatrope, Virginia Tobacco Absolute, and Woody Dioxolane.
  • Both LipidSoft™ Solve and LipidSoft™ Silk are oil-soluble liquids and are miscible with each other. This allows you to dissolve your fragrance oils in LipidSoft™ Solve first and then blend this solution smoothly into the LipidSoft™ Silk base.

Your proposed formula structure, utilizing LipidSoft™ Solve and LipidSoft™ Silk as the carrier oils for a concentrated blend of fragrance notes, is a suitable method for creating a perfume oil.
