pH Meter Calibration and Display Issue

Question

How often should I calibrate a pH Meter with buffer solution before use? Should it be done every time, or just occasionally?

I am currently using the yellow model, and the digital numbers are faint and overlapping, making them unreadable. Is the device broken, or does it just need a battery replacement?

If it needs a battery replacement, is the battery available for sale, and what type should I use?

Answer

# pH Meter Calibration and Display Issue

## Calibration Frequency
It is generally recommended to calibrate your digital pH meter before each use to ensure accurate readings. While you might calibrate less often if taking many measurements of similar solutions in a short time, calibrating daily or before each measurement session is best practice for accuracy and reliability.

## Display Issue (Faint/Overlapping Numbers)
The issue of faint or overlapping numbers on your digital pH meter display is a common sign of a low battery. Replacing the battery will most likely fix this problem.

## Battery Type and Replacement
Most small digital pH meters use button cell batteries (such as LR44 or AG13), but the exact type varies by model. Please check the battery compartment of your meter or its user manual to confirm the correct battery type. You can purchase replacement batteries at electronics stores, watch shops, or online.
