SKIN-DEFENSE®: Effects on Acne, Irritation, and Usage at 10%

Question

I have questions about SKIN-DEFENSE®:

  1. Can SKIN-DEFENSE® be used to reduce acne inflammation or steroid allergy? I saw information on the website saying it has steroid-like effects.
  2. If mixed into a formula at 10%, will it be sticky or clog pores? I see it contains oil and is already a moisturizer. I want to use 10% because the website says it can be used up to 10%, and I want to see results faster by using the maximum dose. Is this possible?

Answer

Information about SKIN-DEFENSE®

Based on the information available regarding SKIN-DEFENSE®:

  • Effect on Acne Inflammation and Steroid Allergy: SKIN-DEFENSE® is designed to reduce irritation and allergic reactions, rather than directly reducing acne inflammation. It is particularly helpful for skin irritation that occurs alongside acne, especially when using acne treatments like Retin-A or Benzoyl Peroxide. It helps strengthen the skin, allowing for continued use of these treatments which can often cause dryness, peeling, and redness. It can help alleviate irritation associated with steroid allergy.

  • Texture and Clogging at 10% Concentration: SKIN-DEFENSE® is not known to clog pores. Despite its moisturizing properties and oil content, it can be used on oily skin, especially when the skin is irritated, dry, or peeling. Using it at the maximum recommended concentration of 10% is appropriate, particularly when the skin is weak or irritated.
