Question
I am formulating an O/W cream and plan to use Adenosine in the formulation. I would like to know about the stability of Adenosine in this formulation.
Answer
Stability of Pure-Adenosine™ in O/W Cream Formulations
When incorporating Pure-Adenosine™ into an O/W cream formulation, its stability is primarily dependent on the pH of the final product.
- pH Range: Pure-Adenosine™ is suitable for cream or gel formulations with a recommended pH range of 3.5-6.5. Maintaining the pH within this range is crucial for its stability.
- Solubility: Pure-Adenosine™ is a powder that can be dispersed in cream or gel bases. It has limited solubility in water (not more than 0.5%) and is not soluble in oil.
- Storage: For long-term storage and to ensure stability, it is recommended to keep Pure-Adenosine™ in the refrigerator. Under proper storage conditions, it has a shelf life of at least 2 years.
Ensure your O/W cream formulation falls within the stable pH range of 3.5-6.5 and that the Pure-Adenosine™ is properly dispersed.
