Texture difference and thickening issue with Aloe Vera Gel base
Question
I made a cream using Aloe Vera Gel (Lite) base, but the texture is different from the tester version, and I cannot achieve the desired thickness by adding thickeners like Pro Polymer or AnyGel. Why is this happening, and which type of Aloe Vera Gel base should I use to get a texture similar to the tester?
Answer
Hello,
Thank you for your question regarding the difference in texture between your homemade cream and the tester version.
Based on the information provided by the staff, the reason for the difference is the type of Aloe Vera Gel base used. The tester used Aloe Vera Gel (Heavy), while you used Aloe Vera Gel (Lite).
- Aloe Vera Gel (Heavy) is compatible with all the ingredients in your formula and provides the thicker, more viscous texture you experienced with the tester.
- Aloe Vera Gel (Lite) is incompatible with several ingredients in your formula, including thickeners like Pro Polymer and AnyGel, which is why you were unable to achieve the desired thickness by adding them.
The staff has clarified that the correct base for this formula, as used in the tester, is Aloe Vera Gel (Heavy). They have also offered compensation for any ingredients that were damaged due to this misunderstanding.
To achieve a texture similar to the tester, please use Aloe Vera Gel (Heavy) in your formulation.
