Toner for anti-aging and pore tightening
Question
I would like to make a toner formulation with the following ingredients and percentages:
- Rose Water 87%
- Argireline 10%
- Pep®-Coll (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5) 3%
The goal is to create a toner for anti-aging and pore tightening.
Is this formulation possible? The Rose Water I am using already contains a preservative from the manufacturer. Will this be sufficient, or do I need to add an additional preservative?
Answer
Subject: Toner for anti-aging and pore tightening
Regarding your proposed toner formulation using Rose Water (87%), Argireline (10%), and Pep®-Coll (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5) (3%) for anti-aging and pore tightening:
Yes, this formulation is possible.
You do not need to add an additional preservative. As mentioned, the Rose Water already contains a preservative from the manufacturer, and using it at 87% (which is more than 60% of the total formula) provides sufficient preservation for the toner.
It is recommended to add Laurocapram (Water Soluble) at 2% to help enhance the penetration of the ingredients into the skin.
