Question

Hello. Is Activated Resorcinol™ necessary to include in hair color changing shampoo products using SemiColor? I saw this ingredient in the formula of a certain brand of hair color changing shampoo, so I would like to ask if it can actually be used for hair bleaching. Thank you.

Answer

Activated Resorcinol (4-Butyl Resorcinol) is an ingredient primarily used for skin whitening. Its mechanism involves reducing melanin production in the skin.

It is important to note that Activated Resorcinol (4-Butyl Resorcinol) is different from Resorcinol, which is an ingredient sometimes used in hair dyes. Activated Resorcinol is not intended for use in hair color changing shampoos or for hair bleaching. Its function is related to skin pigmentation, not hair.

Therefore, Activated Resorcinol is not necessary or suitable for use in hair color changing shampoos or for bleaching hair.
