Question
Based on the formula:
Cyclomethicone 30%Dimethicone 20%Silicone Gel Base 40%
Will the texture be liquid enough to be dispensed from a vacuum pump bottle? Also, will powder ingredients such as BB Micro Silk or Silk Mica Powder settle in this formulation?
Answer
Based on the staff's response regarding your primer formula:
- The consistency of the formula with 30% Cyclomethicone, 20% Dimethicone, and 40% Silicone Gel Base should be liquid enough for a vacuum pump bottle as you desired.
- However, the staff expressed concern that if the mixture is too liquid, the powder ingredients like BB Micro Silk™ or Silk Mica Powder could settle.
- While the staff didn't explicitly state that a mixing tool is required, their comments about powder settling suggest that thorough mixing is important to keep the powder dispersed and achieve a stable product. Simple manual stirring might not be sufficient for long-term stability and preventing settling.
- The staff also recommended adding Silicone Blender (2%) and SiliSolve™ (0.5%) to help blend the different silicones and improve stability, potentially helping with powder dispersion.
- They also suggested considering Silicone Blend as an alternative ingredient to achieve a thicker consistency and better feel, which might reduce the need for a high percentage of Silicone Gel Base and help with stability.
