Question
I have questions regarding the Light Invisible Sunscreen (SPF50+, PA++++):
- Is this product waterproof? If not, what ingredients can be added to enhance its water resistance?
- At which stage of the formulation process should Tinosorb M be incorporated?
Answer
Light Invisible Sunscreen (SPF50+, PA++++)
Regarding your questions about Light Invisible Sunscreen and Tinosorb M:
1. Is Light Invisible Sunscreen waterproof, and what can be added to enhance water resistance?
Light Invisible Sunscreen is a light-textured sunscreen serum designed for high sun protection. Its description does not explicitly state that it is waterproof. To enhance the water resistance of your formula, we recommend adding film-forming polymers such as:
- WaterGuard™ Spray: This is a high molecular weight polymer that creates a long-lasting film on the skin, providing high efficiency for making sunscreen products waterproof and sweat-resistant. It is soluble in alcohol.
- Allianz OPT: This polymer film former provides water and wear resistance for long-lasting sun and color cosmetic formulas. It is dispersible in water.
2. At what step can Tinosorb M be added?
Our Bisoctrizole (MBBT), which is equivalent to Tinosorb M, is designed to be easily dispersed in water. Therefore, you can add it directly into the water phase of your formula. It is easy to use and provides excellent SPF/PA values, working well with both oil-soluble (chemical) and physical sunscreens.
