Sunscreen Body Oil Formulation SPF 50 PA+++ with Natural Oils

To achieve SPF 50 and PA+++ using physical sunscreen dispersions in a body oil format, a high concentration of sunscreen actives is required. Below is a suggested formulation for a 100ml batch.

Sunscreen Body Oil SPF 50 PA+++ Formula (100ml)

Phase 1: Sunscreen & Dispersion Enhancers

• Zinc Oxide Transparent Dispersion (C12-15 alkyl benzoate Base): 25 ml (Provides high UVA protection for PA+++)
• Titanium Dioxide Transparent (15nm, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate Base): 20 ml (Provides high UVB protection for SPF 50)
• LipidSoft™ SPF: 15 ml (Helps disperse sunscreens and reduces greasiness)

Phase 2: Nourishing Natural Oils

• Fractionated Coconut Oil: 15 ml (Lightweight, non-greasy base oil)
• Jojoba Oil (Clear - Deodorized): 10 ml (Balances skin oil and improves stability)
• NaturalProfile™ Sweet Almond Oil (Cold-Pressed): 8 ml (Rich in vitamins and moisture)
• NaturalProfile™ Grape Seed Oil (Cold-Pressed): 5 ml (Lightweight antioxidant oil)
• Pomegranate Seed Oil (Virgin, Cold-Pressed): 1 ml (Potent anti-aging and skin-repairing oil)
• Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate): 1 ml (Essential antioxidant to prevent natural oils from going rancid)

Mixing Instructions:

1. Prepare Sunscreen Phase: Combine all ingredients in Phase 1 (Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, and LipidSoft™ SPF). Stir or use a small mixer until the mixture is completely homogeneous and smooth.
2. Add Natural Oils: Gradually add the ingredients from Phase 2 into the sunscreen mixture one by one, stirring continuously to ensure even distribution.
3. Finalize: Once all oils and Vitamin E are thoroughly mixed, the body oil will have a slightly milky-white appearance due to the high concentration of physical sunscreens.

Important Recommendations:

• Shake Well Before Use: Because this formula uses physical sunscreen dispersions in a pure oil base, some settling may occur over time. It is highly recommended to package this in a bottle that allows for easy shaking.
• Texture: While the oils and LipidSoft™ SPF help with absorption, a physical SPF 50 formula will feel slightly heavier than a standard body oil. This is necessary to provide the requested level of protection.
• Stability: The addition of Vitamin E is crucial for protecting the cold-pressed natural oils from oxidation (rancidity).
