Question

I want to make an acne reduction mask containing Green Clay and herbal powders. The herbal powders I want to use are Turmeric, Rang Jued, Mangosteen Peel, Centella Asiatica, and Mung Bean powder.

Could you please provide guidance on the ratio/percentage of each ingredient?

Answer

Acne Reduction Mask Formulation

Here is a suggested formulation for an acne reduction mask using Green Clay and herbal powders, along with recommended usage percentages:

Ingredients

  • Green Clay: This forms the base of the mask. It helps absorb excess oil, draw out impurities, tighten pores, and reduce inflammation.
  • Turmeric Extract (WhiteCumin™ 2x): Known for its potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, beneficial for reducing acne redness and promoting skin clarity.
  • Centella Asiatica Extract (Pure-TECA™): Highly effective in soothing skin, reducing inflammation, and supporting skin healing, which is great for acne-prone skin.
  • Other Herbal Powders: Mung Bean powder (gentle exfoliation/cleansing), Mangosteen Peel powder (traditionally used for anti-bacterial properties), and Rang Jued powder (traditionally used for detoxification).

Suggested Formulation (Dry Mix)

This is a guideline for the percentage of each powder in your dry mask blend:

  • Green Clay: 70-80%
  • Pure-TECA™ Centella Asiatica Extract: 1% (within the recommended 0.1-2% range)
  • Mung Bean Powder: 10-20%
  • Mangosteen Peel Powder: 1-5%
  • Rang Jued Powder: 1-5%

  • Ensure the total percentage of all dry ingredients adds up to 100%.*

Preparation and Usage

  1. Thoroughly mix all the dry powder ingredients together to create your mask blend.
  2. To use, take a small amount of the dry mask blend (e.g., 1-2 tablespoons).
  3. In a separate bowl, mix a liquid (such as water, rose water, or a hydrosol) with the Turmeric Extract (WhiteCumin™ 2x). Add the WhiteCumin™ 2x at a rate of 2.5-3.0% of the liquid weight.
  4. Gradually add the liquid mixture to the dry mask blend, stirring until you achieve a smooth, spreadable paste. Use enough liquid to reach your desired consistency.
  5. Apply the mask to clean skin, avoiding the eye area.
  6. Leave on for 10-15 minutes, or until the mask is mostly dry.
  7. Rinse off thoroughly with warm water.
  8. Follow with your regular skincare routine.

Important Notes

  • Always perform a patch test on a small area of skin before applying the mask to your entire face, especially if you have sensitive skin or are using new ingredients.
  • Adjust the proportions of the herbal powders based on your preference and skin's reaction.
  • Store the dry mask blend in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. Mix only the amount needed for a single application.

This combination of ingredients can help to absorb excess oil, reduce inflammation, and soothe acne-prone skin.
