Acne Treatment Serum Formula for Sensitive, Oily, Acne-Prone Skin

This formula is designed for beginners, focusing on addressing oily skin, clogged pores, minor inflammation, and sensitivity, while being budget-friendly. It aims to prepare the skin for further treatment steps.

Recommended Ingredients:

• Safe-B3™ (Vitamin B3, Niacinamide): Helps reduce oiliness, redness, and irritation. It also strengthens the skin barrier and has anti-aging benefits. (Recommended usage: 5%)
• Salicylic Acid (Water-soluble type): A Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) that helps exfoliate skin cells and dissolve clogged pores, which are the main cause of closed comedones and can contribute to inflammatory acne. (Recommended usage: 1-2%, start with 1.5% for sensitive skin)
• Zinc PCA: Reduces oil production, helps heal acne scars, and has anti-inflammatory properties. (Recommended usage: 1%)
• AcneBee™ Extra: A royal jelly extract derivative that helps control oil and has anti-bacterial properties to reduce acne. (Recommended usage: 1.5%)
• Licorice Extract (Licochalcone A 1%, Water-Soluble): Reduces inflammation, redness, and irritation, suitable for sensitive skin. Also helps control oil. (Recommended usage: 1%)
• Pro Polymer™ (Gel Maker): A water-soluble polymer to create a lightweight gel texture suitable for oily skin. (Recommended usage: 0.8-1%)
• Mild Preserved™ COS: A broad-spectrum preservative to prevent microbial growth in the product. (Recommended usage: 1%)
• Purified Water: The base of the serum.
• pH Adjuster: Such as Citric Acid solution, to adjust the final pH of the serum to be effective and gentle on the skin (ideally pH 4.0-5.5).

Simple Mixing Guide (Water-Based Gel Serum):

1. In a clean container, disperse Pro Polymer™ in the purified water (use about 80-85% of the total water initially). Stir gently or use a low-speed mixer until a smooth gel forms. Let it hydrate fully.
2. In a separate container, dissolve Safe-B3™, Salicylic Acid (Water-soluble type), Zinc PCA, AcneBee™ Extra, and Licorice Extract in the remaining purified water. Stir until completely dissolved.
3. Slowly add the dissolved active ingredient mixture (Step 2) into the gel base (Step 1). Stir gently until everything is uniformly combined.
4. Add Mild Preserved™ COS and stir well.
5. Check the pH of the serum using a pH meter or pH strips. Slowly add drops of a pH adjuster (like a 10-20% Citric Acid solution) while stirring, until the pH is in the range of 4.0-5.5. Mix thoroughly after each addition.
6. Package the serum in a clean bottle.

• Always use clean equipment and follow good manufacturing practices.
• Perform a patch test on a small area of skin before applying the product to the entire face, especially given the history of sensitivity.
• The recommended percentages are starting points. You may adjust them based on your testing and skin response, staying within recommended usage rates for each ingredient.
• Once the skin condition improves and stabilizes, you can consider adding ingredients for anti-aging in subsequent formulations.
