Adding Ethoxydiglycol to Water Phase in Formulation

Question

Based on the previous discussion and staff advice, I understand that Ethoxydiglycol (4%) should be added to the water phase of my formulation. My original water phase includes:

  • DI water (9)
  • Creatine (3)
  • EDTA (5)
  • Phenoxyethanol (6)

Could you confirm that Ethoxydiglycol should be added to this specific mixture (step 2 in my original process) before combining it with the oil phase? I also want to ensure this is correct considering the other recommendations: increasing Lipid Soft (4) to approximately 10%, mixing Kojic Acid (1) into the oil phase (Lipid Soft), and adding the oil phase after the main mixture has cooled below 40°C.

Answer

Regarding adding Ethoxydiglycol (4%), based on the staff's advice, it should be added to the water phase.

In your original steps, the water phase consists of:

  • DI water (9)
  • Creatine (3)
  • EDTA (5)
  • Phenoxyethanol (6)

So, you should add Ethoxydiglycol to this mixture (step 2 in your original process) before combining it with the oil phase.

Remember the staff's other recommendations:

  • Increase Lipid Soft (4) to around 10%.
  • Mix Kojic Acid (1) into the oil phase (Lipid Soft).
  • Add the oil phase (containing Lipid Soft and Kojic Acid) in the final step, after the main mixture has cooled below 40°C.
