Question
I am working on a serum formulation similar to the Skinceuticals C E Ferulic type. Can I add Hyaluronic Acid and Lecithin to this formula? If so, how should I incorporate them, and are there any compatibility issues?
Answer
Based on the staff's reply:
- Lecithin: Cannot be added to this formula. Lecithin is an emulsifier and adding it would affect the texture of the serum.
- Hyaluronic Acid: Can be added. The staff recommends using Double Hyaluron Liquid (Product ID 404) as it is a liquid and easier to incorporate into the water phase of the formula. The staff reply did not specify the exact quantity to add. You may need to determine the appropriate amount based on your desired consistency and the recommended usage rate for Double Hyaluron Liquid.
