Moisturizing Ingredients for Liquid Soap

To make a liquid soap that helps increase skin moisture, you can choose from Humectants or ingredients that support the skin's Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF). These ingredients help draw water into the skin and retain moisture, preventing the skin from feeling dry after using the soap.

Recommended ingredients include:

• TreMoisture™ (Trehalose): A natural sugar that helps retain moisture, strengthen the skin barrier, and reduce water loss from the skin. Use at 1-3%, mixed in the water phase.
• Natural Moisturizing Amino Acids: A group of amino acids that mimic the skin's natural NMF. They help keep the skin soft and hydrated and support wound healing. Can be used in skin and scalp products like shampoo. Use at 0.5-5% (3-5% for skin, 0.5-1% for leave-on hair), mixed in the water phase.
• MOIST72™: A sugar extract with a structure similar to NMF, providing long-lasting moisture for up to 72 hours. It helps reduce irritation and is suitable for dry to very dry skin. Use at 2-5%, mixed in the final step at a temperature below 40°C.
• MOIST24: A Humectant that helps maintain moisture throughout the day. It improves product texture, reduces stickiness, and helps other ingredients disperse well. Use at 1-10% (recommended 5-8% for moisturizers, 1-5% for general products), mixed in the water phase.
• TransMoist™ (PPG-24-Glycereth-24): Helps increase moisture and facilitates the penetration of other ingredients, making the product feel faster-absorbing. Use at 1-10% (recommended 2%), mixed in the water phase.
• NanoShea™ (Liquid Shea Butter, 30%): Shea Butter in liquid form that disperses well in water. Suitable for water-based formulas, it adds moisture and reduces irritation. Use at 3-15%, mixed in the final step, avoiding heat.
• Advanced Moisture Complex: A powerful complex of moisturizers providing immediate and 24-hour hydration. It helps strengthen the skin and prevent water evaporation, suitable for very dry skin. Use at 3-10%, mixed in the water phase.
• Natural Betaine (Powder): An extract from the Sugar Beet plant that provides moisture, reduces irritation, and helps increase foam in cleansing products. Use at 2-10%, mixed in the water phase.
