Question

I have an existing cream formulation.

Can I add the following ingredients to this finished cream?

  • Myristyl Nicotinate (Pro-Niacin™)
  • Full&Lift

Please advise on the method and recommended usage percentage for adding these ingredients to a finished cream product.

Answer

Adding Full&Lift and Myristyl Nicotinate to Existing Cream

Based on the information provided:

  1. Adding Full&Lift to your existing cream: While Full&Lift is compatible with the ingredients in your cream, it is not recommended to add it to a finished cream. This is because Full&Lift needs to be heated to around 50-60°C and mixed into the formula at that temperature. Applying this heat to a pre-made cream can degrade other ingredients in the formula. Full&Lift is best incorporated when making a cream from scratch, where heat-sensitive ingredients can be added after the mixture cools down.
  2. Adding Myristyl Nicotinate (Pro-Niacin™) to your existing cream: It is confirmed that Myristyl Nicotinate (Pro-Niacin™) can be added to your existing cream. You can add it to the cream base and mix it until fully incorporated. The suggested usage is 6%.

In summary, you can add Myristyl Nicotinate (Pro-Niacin™) at 6% to your existing cream, but you should not add Full&Lift to the finished cream.
