Question

I am making a cream using Soft Cream Maker and want to add 20nm Silver Pure. The cream requires time to set. Can I disperse the 20nm Silver Pure in warm water and add it to the cream after it has set?

Answer

Based on the information about Soft Cream Maker and Nano Silver 20nm Powder, adding the Nano Silver after the cream has fully set is generally not recommended.

Here's why and the suggested method:

  • Soft Cream Maker Setting: Soft Cream Maker requires heating and continuous stirring during the cooling phase to form its structure. While it takes up to 48 hours to fully set, the emulsion is formed and starts thickening during the initial cooling process.
  • Adding Ingredients: Adding ingredients, especially those dispersed in water, to a fully set cream can disrupt the stable emulsion that has formed. This can lead to separation, uneven texture, and poor distribution of the active ingredient (Nano Silver).
  • Correct Method: Nano Silver 20nm Powder is dispersible but not soluble. The correct way to incorporate it is to disperse the required amount of powder in a small amount of water (or the water phase of your formula) first. This dispersion should then be added to the cream base during the cooling phase, after the main emulsion has formed (typically below 40-45°C), while you are still stirring the cream as it cools and thickens. This allows the Nano Silver to be evenly distributed throughout the cream before it sets.

So, while Soft Cream Maker takes time to fully set, you should add the dispersed Nano Silver during the cooling and stirring phase of the cream-making process, not after it has completely set days later.
