Adding Oil to Shampoo and Jojoba Oil Shelf Life

I have two questions:

Regarding adding 1% oil to common shampoos (like Care, Sunsilk, which contain SLS):
- Can 1% oil be added directly?
- Will mixing the oil with Polysorbate 20 first help prevent separation?
Is Jojoba Oil a long-lasting oil with low rancidity? If used in a cleansing oil formulation, can it last about 1.5 years?

Regarding adding 1% Jojoba Oil to a standard shampoo (like those with SLS) and using Polysorbate 20 to prevent separation:
- Adding 1% oil to an opaque or white shampoo is generally possible.
- Mixing the oil with Polysorbate 20 beforehand will not significantly help prevent separation, especially if adding more oil. The effectiveness depends more on the type and amount of surfactant already in the shampoo.
- Using a large amount of Polysorbate 20 is not recommended as it can change the texture of the shampoo.
Regarding the shelf life of Jojoba Oil:
- Jojoba Oil has a very long shelf life, typically over 2 years, and is resistant to rancidity under normal storage conditions.
- A cleansing oil made with Jojoba Oil should last at least 1.5 years, provided it is stored away from strong sunlight and high heat for extended periods.
