Question
I have a Tester Pure Aloe Vera Gel base that is pre-mixed by the lab. I plan to add Galactomyces 20% and Ceramide 5% to this base.
My question is:
- Can I add more polymer to this pre-mixed base?
- What is the purpose of adding more polymer? Is it for moisturizing or adjusting texture?
- If I add more polymer, should I reduce the amount of the base liquid?
- Is packaging included in the Tester set?
Answer
Based on the staff's reply:
- The Tester Pure Aloe Vera Gel base is pre-mixed by the lab.
Regarding your question about adding a polymer:
- The Aloe Vera Gel base itself already contains gelling agents (polymers) to give it its gel consistency.
- Adding more polymer is generally done to increase the viscosity or change the texture of the gel, not necessarily for the moisturizing function of the active ingredients (Galactomyces and Ceramide).
- For this specific tester set with a pre-mixed base, adding additional polymer is typically not required or recommended unless you have a specific texture goal and experience in adjusting pre-made bases. The current combination of the gel base with 20% Galactomyces and 5% Ceramide should provide the intended moisturizing benefits.
- If you were to add more polymer to a base from scratch, you would reduce the amount of the base liquid proportionally. However, this is not standard practice when using a pre-mixed base like the one in the tester set.
Regarding packaging:
- The staff's reply confirmed the base is pre-mixed but did not mention whether packaging is included in the set. You may need to check the product description or contact customer service for clarification on packaging.
