Question
I want to add Vitamin E Beads to Stabilized Vitamin C (Natural-C Glycol™) Serum. Will this affect the stability of the serum? Also, how can I make the beads stay suspended in the serum instead of settling at the bottom?
Answer
Based on the staff's reply, you can add Vitamin E Beads to the Stabilized Vitamin C (Natural-C Glycol™) Serum without affecting the serum's stability because the beads do not dissolve.
However, there are two concerns:
- The low pH of the serum might cause the Vitamin E Beads to degrade over time (e.g., change color). It is recommended to test the mixture for 3-6 months.
- The serum is liquid, so the beads will settle. To suspend the beads, you need to increase the serum's viscosity, for example, by adding 1-1.5% of a thickener like AnyGel.
Therefore, while possible regarding stability, you should consider the potential degradation of the beads and the need to thicken the serum if you want the beads to be suspended.
