Question

I have questions about adjusting the color of my current foundation and making lip gloss:

  1. To make my current foundation lighter and brighter, should I mix Titanium Dioxide 200nm EasyDisperse™ or Titanium Dioxide Pigment (Make-Up/BB/CC) into it? Should I also add Mica to the cream?
  2. For making lip gloss without a blender, what types of colorants should I use to achieve a clear color? Should I add Mica to the lip gloss? If I want to make the lip color lighter, should I add Titanium Dioxide Pigment or Titanium Dioxide 200nm EasyDisperse™?

Answer

Adjusting Foundation Color and Making Lip Gloss

Here is information on adjusting the color of your foundation and making lip gloss:

1. Lightening Foundation Color

To make your current foundation lighter and brighter, you can add Titanium Dioxide. Both Titanium Dioxide 200nm EasyDisperse™ and Titanium Dioxide 250nm Pigment (Non-Treated) can be used. However, Titanium Dioxide 200nm EasyDisperse™ is generally preferred for makeup products like foundation because it is treated to disperse easily, provides a smoother feel on the skin, and adheres well.

Regarding adding Mica to your foundation, Mica powder can be used in makeup products to add softness, lightness, and natural skin coverage. Adding a small amount of Mica can help achieve a brighter, more radiant look.

2. Making Lip Gloss

To achieve a clear color in lip gloss without using a blender, you should use pigment colors or EasyMix colors. These types of colorants are designed to disperse well in formulas, making them suitable for mixing without specialized equipment.

Examples of suitable EasyMix colors include White Oxides EasyMix™, Yellow Iron Oxides EasyMix™, and Red Iron Oxides EasyMix™, among others. These are coated to mix easily and provide consistent color.

Adding Mica to lip gloss is also possible. Mica can add shimmer, sparkle, or a pearlescent effect, depending on the type and particle size of the Mica used. It can enhance the visual appeal of the lip gloss.

If you want to lighten the color of your lip gloss, you can add Titanium Dioxide. Similar to foundation, both Titanium Dioxide 250nm Pigment (Non-Treated) and Titanium Dioxide 200nm EasyDisperse™ can be used for this purpose. Adding a small amount of Titanium Dioxide will make the lip gloss color more opaque and lighter.
