Question

I have a formula containing 20% Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8) and 10% Pep Coll (Palmitoyl tripeptide-5). Can I add Lift Now™ and Wrinkle-Fill™ (Acetyl-Tyrosine) to this formula? What are the recommended concentrations for these ingredients?

Answer

Formulation Advice

It is crucial to first correct the concentrations of Argireline and Pep Coll in your existing formula.

  • Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8): The maximum recommended usage is 10%. Your current 20% is too high. Please reduce it to 10% or less.
  • Pep Coll (Palmitoyl tripeptide-5): The maximum recommended usage is 5%, with 3% being the recommended concentration. Your current 10% is too high. Please reduce it to 5% or less (ideally 3%).

Using concentrations above the manufacturer's recommendations is not effective and can be harmful.

Once you have adjusted Argireline and Pep Coll to their safe and recommended levels, you can add the other ingredients:

  • Lift Now™: You can add this at 3%. The recommended range is 1-10%, with 5% recommended for optimal temporary lifting effect. This ingredient provides immediate, temporary skin tightening and is suitable for daytime products.
  • Wrinkle-Fill™ (Acetyl-Tyrosine): You can add this at 1%. The recommended range is 1-2%. This ingredient works synergistically with peptides to help reduce wrinkles and improve skin firmness.

Therefore, a revised formula could include:

  • Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8): Up to 10% (e.g., 10%)
  • Pep Coll (Palmitoyl tripeptide-5): Up to 5% (e.g., 3%)
  • Lift Now™: 3%
  • Wrinkle-Fill™ (Acetyl-Tyrosine): 1%
  • Base formulation ingredients (water, thickeners, preservatives, etc.) to make 100%.

Always ensure the total concentration of all ingredients does not exceed 100% and follow the mixing instructions for each ingredient (e.g., adding peptides and heat-sensitive ingredients in the final phase below 40°C).
